Iniciatyvos fondas (Initiative Fund) is a public institution founded in 2007 by the Invalda INVL group, with the aim of fostering social initiative and supporting positive change in society.
In its early years, the Initiative Fund ran its own social programmes: encouraging young people to lead more active lives, promoting a culture of reading, supporting educators in search of innovative teaching methods, and from 2016 to 2020 developing the Positive Diary project, which sought to shift the tone of public discourse in Lithuania.
In 2020, as the world faced the COVID-19 pandemic, the Initiative Fund changed course: rather than running its own programmes, it began providing targeted support to organisations that respond swiftly and effectively to the most pressing societal needs. From 2022, following the outbreak of war in Ukraine, the majority of its support has gone to the organisation Blue-Yellow and other initiatives helping Ukraine and strengthening security across the region.
Today, the Initiative Fund supports organisations that act quickly and meaningfully where it matters most — whether in response to social or geopolitical challenges.

Initiative Fund has expressed its commitment to use the Compact as a forum for advancing responsible corporate citizenship.
Thorough the power of collective action, the Global Compact seeks to promote responsible corporate citizenship so that business can be part of the solution to the challenges of globalization. In this way, the private sector – in partnership with other social actors – can help realize a sustainable and inclusive global economy.
